About

Walk the Cwm Idwal National Nature Reserve, set in the Ogwen Valley this is perhaps the most dramatic mountain locations in the UK. The visitor centre here has good facilities, parking and is well served by the Sherpa’r bus service. It is also home to what is probably the best introductory walk in Snowdonia, gradually climbing up to Cwm Idwal, circling the lake and offering stunning mountain views. You can also access the easy-going Snowdonia slate trail from here, either down to Bethesda or up the valley to Capel Curig and beyond to Betws y Coed. For the more experienced hiker, there is good access up into the Glyder Mountain range, including the domineering Mount Tryfan.
