About

Walk the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) Range from Nant Gwynant valley where you can summit Mount Snowdon along the Watkin Path. From this stunning valley on the South East side of Snowdon Massif it is a long steep and challenging hike to the summit, but the route is well worth the effort and you pass the Watkins waterfalls and pools on your way which offer a welcome opportunity for a refreshing dip. Given the challenging nature of this route, it is significantly less crowded than routes from Llanberis and the Pen y Pass if you’re keen for a less ‘touristy’ experience. Clearly you do not have to do the whole route and going up as far as Gladstone Rock is is a fantastic walk. There are also some other gorgeous circular walks that can be done from here, taking in stunning Gwynant Lake and surrounding hills. The car park can still fill up quickly so consider the Sherpa’r bus service if you’re going at peak time.
